Trip to the cemetery

The Snowflake cemetery is one of my MOST FAVORITE places to go. I know that sounds crazy, but I absolutely love it there. I always have a hard time leaving it.

Lincoln bought some BEAUTIFUL tulips to put on Jackson's grave. They are my favorite flower and looked so pretty on his grave. We still haven't found a headstone to put on it, so if anyone knows of a good place to buy one, let us know!!!

Wii

I know I've posted quite a few pictures of us playing video games. Probably because it is a special treat when we do. :) I was going to buy Linc an X-Box the first year that we were married and he told me not to. I soon found out why....Lincoln will play a video game for 6 hours and think it has been an hour or two. So we just play at our friends' houses for now! Here is Lincoln playing boxing on the Wii at the Moaks' house. It was so funny just to watch him play.

Getting ready for the fight...

Going crazy...releasing all of the anger that has built up inside of him. :)

VICTORIOUS!!!!

Endometriosis

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month. I know this disease all too well! I'm sitting here right now in my pj's (at 4:30pm) eating a bowl of canned chili because that took the least amount of effort to make. I'm on painkillers trying to do everything that I need to do...without the mental clarity that I need to do it. Let's just say I have to definitely rely on the Lord a lot when I feel like this! Although this is SO hard to deal with, I am grateful for the perspective that this disease has given me. I have a pretty extreme case of it. I have had 6 surgeries and have been on multiple hormone shots. Ever since I was diagnosed with endometriosis I have had a hard time fitting in. I remember going to young adult dances and when the guy asked me if I went to school I would have to say "no", followed by, "Oh, so you work?" I would say "no" and either have to explain my whole situation or just let them think that I was basically lazy and didn't care. :) I have to say that Lincoln is a trooper. He knew that I had this disease when he married me but I'm sure that he NEVER thought he would have to deal with as much as he does. He gets to drive me places when I am totally out of it from the painkillers & he gets to come up with something for dinner when I'm not feeling well. Because some days I don't leave the house all day and just lay on the couch and read and watch tv, he gets to be my main source of conversation and entertainment. For most of our marriage he has had the financial burden of being the sole provider in our family. Even though sometimes we just absolutely hate this disease and what it does to us and to our lives, we are grateful for the things that it has taught us. I think that we have learned some really important things about marriage that most people may not experience until later on. Anyway, I am not trying to get anyone to feel sorry for me, but just trying to bring more awareness of how this affects women's lives when they have this disease. I also want to thank those of you who ask how I am feeling and who pay so much attention to what is going on in my life with this sickness. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am also glad that all of you have blogs so that I have something to do with my time on the hard days! :) Thanks!

I hope our kids don't have my athleticism....or lack thereof!

Here is a video I found from our Christmas trip to Pinetop. The boys had a skateboard without wheels that they were riding down the hill and I thought I would give it a try. It is so pathetic how bad I am at anything that takes a little athletic talent! Lincoln is a pro at all of it...it makes me so mad!

Our new niece!

Lincoln's sister Holly had her baby this morning. Her name is Kaylan and she weighs 7lbs. 11oz. and is 19in. long. I'm sad because they live in Utah so we probably won't be able to see our new niece for awhile. We are SO excited to have this new addition to our family!!!

We had my cousin Kira's birthday dinner on Sunday. She chose french toast with buttermilk syrup & breakfast casserole...it seems to be a popular bday dinner choice in our family! I love seeing Kira every Sunday & am so glad to have her as my cousin. Happy birthday Kira!

Later that night Mom & Meg & I played Quiddler and Clue. It was even cold enough outside to build a fire! I love my family! We have so much fun together and they do so much for me.

Olivia

My cousin Amy just had a baby...they named her Olivia & she is so cute. I'm excited for her & Marcus and I know that their daughter Bailey will love having a sister. Olivia is totally crying in this picture...I'm not sure that she likes me yet! :)

Valentines Day

I am finally posting about Valentines Day! I am way behind. This year Linc & I actually didn't do anything to celebrate...I know, so sad. He had to work that night and then we kind of forgot to celebrate that weekend. Maybe next year will be better. :) I did get some really cute valentines from some kids in my ward. My mom went all out and gave us this really cute Valentine's Day gift with our favorite treats and gift cards to Walmart and QT. Free gas & groceries...yeah! It made my day! :)

Lincoln made a vision board for us to hang in our bedroom and put pictures of our goals on. We saw it on Oprah & liked the idea. Yes, Lincoln likes Oprah even though he'll never admit it. I thought the board looked pretty cool!

We haven't had anything really different or new happen lately, but here are some great people I've been around lately...

Ashley Young's birthday was last week! Happy birthday
Ashley! You are an AMAZING girl with a HUGE heart.
You are so much fun, so positive and SO service oriented.
Thanks for being such a fabulous person!

I was able to babysit my mom's next-door neighbor Maggie today.
She is hilarous! I love her enthusiasm and I love how into singing and dancing she is. She had a couple friends over to keep me company too. We had a lot of fun together!

McKenzie and Savannah had a lemonade stand outside. McKenzie was so excited to pay her tithing last Sunday from the money she earned selling lemonade. I love seeing kids learn gospel principles that will bless them throughout their lives!

I have issues!

Ok, so it is 3:23 am, Lincoln is sleeping away and I am on the computer...AWAKE. Unfortunately, this isn't the first night this has happened, or even the 10th night this has happened. So...I need advice!!! Have any of you had a hard time sleeping & if so, did you find a cure? I have tried Benadryl & Tylenol PM...the Tylenol helps more, but not as much as you would think. And I don't like the medicine hangover feeling I have in the morning from it. Just a random fact...did you know that Benadryl and Unisom are the EXACT same thing? Pretty crazy, since they charge way more for Unisom! I felt guilty for taking medicine to fall asleep, until my bishop told me that he takes cough medicine to fall asleep. :) They gave me Ambien after I had Jackson, and I turned into a freak. I was hallucinating and Lincoln almost called 911. Hmm, that actually is a pretty funny story. I'll have to tell it sometime! ANYWAY, I would like to find a more natural approach to sleeping. Does anyone have any ideas? I am clueless!

IT'S BACK!!!

That's right! Lost Season 4 started last week and I am so excited about it. I know, it's weird that I am blogging about a tv show. I don't know what it is about this show but it completely captivates me. The writers and directors are geniuses! It is insane how perfectly detailed this show is and how every little thing has some hidden meaning. I'm telling you...it's crazy!
On a funny note...I am perfectly honest with Lincoln about the dreams I've had about Jack. Well, just one dream. In my dream I met Jack & he took me for a helicopter ride. I fell in love with him and so I went to Lincoln (in my dream of course) & asked if he would mind if I married Jack and he could marry Jack's wife (his ex-wife in the show). Just switch spouses, you know? It was pretty hilarious. When I told Lincoln about the dream, he asked who played his ex-wife. I told him & he said that that would have been fine if we had traded, because apparently Lincoln really liked that girl when she played on the tv show Ed. So those are our dark secrets. It's good I haven't had another dream about Jack, because Lincoln might not let me keep watching the show. :) Ha ha!

President Hinckley

These are two of my favorite pictures of President Hinckley. He & his wife are just the cutest couple ever! I hope Lincoln & I are half as cute as them when we are old! :) I also love this picture of President Hinckley and President Bush. It's really cool to see the leader of our church and the leader of our country together like that. I am so excited that President Hinckley has been reunited with his wife. He lived such a great life! I really look up to him and his example of optimism and persistence. What a wonderful man! I will miss hearing his powerful testimony.
