Doing a Megan pose...this is what she does when I tell her to pose for the camera. I know, I look SO cool. :) We spent A LOT of time in the car on this trip. I think Lincoln said he drove 1300 miles...because he was the only one on the rental car agreement. Poor guy!
Aaron & Lincoln thought this was the best part of the trip. They were throwing peace signs at the soldiers and talking about the tanks like they were little boys.
P.S.- I apologize that 3/4 of these pictures are of me...Lincoln doesn't love the whole "smile so I can put this on our blog" thing. :)

Road Trip!

We made a last-minute decision to go to Canada...so on Thursday we woke up, drove a few hours to the border, went on a ferry and then drove to Butchart Gardens (near Victoria, B.C.), stayed there for a few hours, drove back to the ferry, took the ferry back and drove to our hotel late that night. If we could do it over again, we definitely wouldn't make this trip in one day. The ferry was so expensive...we thought the initial charge was round-trip but we later learned otherwise. We figured we should take tons of pictures to make up for it, so by the time you get through all these pictures you'll probably feel like you were there! :)

Lincoln had told me earlier that we would be driving on to the ferry, but I am dumb & thought he was joking. Obviously I didn't know what a ferry was. :) Stetson & Shawn & I were all freaking out when we realized he was serious. I was telling Lincoln "Oh, it's like the movie Deja Vu where Denzel Washington is running between the cars down below on the boat...it must have been a ferry! I get it!" Ha ha. Of course I have to mention the food too...I had the best salmon crepe and enormous toffee cookie while we waited...yum! It's so sad that I am still thinking about the food 2 weeks after our trip...maybe that's why I gained 5 pounds that week. :)

Ferry Trip #2
Enjoying the ferry ride & the cold weather!!!
Me, Linc, Aunt Elizabeth, Hayley, Stetson, Sophie
This picture makes me laugh my head off every time I look at it. Kyle REALLY enjoyed the sunflower seeds! :)
We looked back and saw these 3 kids totally enthralled with the Nintendo DS that Shawn was playing. They stood there for probably 20 minutes leaning over his shoulder watching him...it was hilarious.

Seattle!!!
I loved the tall buildings in Seattle! Seattle is definitely a city with a lot of diversity!
What are the chances?! I saw my boyfriend standing on the corner! Don't we make a cute couple?
We ate at Ivar's and enjoyed the company of the seagulls. They LOVE french fries...I was a little nervous to get so close, but they ate right out of my hand!
Mom, Melissa & Aaron walking in downtown Seattle. It was great to get quality time in with my family.

Touring the Market

The market in Seattle was so cool. They had HUGE (the picture makes them look a lot smaller) fish that people bought there. Whenever someone bought a fish one guy (who was standing by the crowd) would yell and throw the fish right over everyone's heads to the guy behind the counter. They would throw it back and forth to each other a few times then wrap it up and give it to the buyer. It was hilarious to watch. The only fish they ever dropped was a big fake one that the guy in the crowd would miss and try to throw on people...so funny!!!
They had some of the most gorgeous flowers I've ever seen for sale at the market. They had huge bouquets for $10! I think I would move there just for the cheap flowers! :)

Time with Family

On Friday night we visited my dad's cousin and his family. I had never met them before...they were awesome and made us feel so welcome there. Before dinner, Paige showed us their beehives. I volunteered to be her "helper" and got to wear this! It definitely suits me, doesn't it? :) I got to see the different stages of the honeycomb and had bees flying around me...it was really cool!
Dinner was delicious...we had some AMAZING salmon. For dessert we had cobbler with fresh fruit...YUM!!! I loved the produce in Portland and Seattle...everything was so FRESH and full of flavor!!!
After dinner, some of us went to watch the Seattle Mariners game. They lost but we had fun hanging out there. My favorite part was watching my cousin Sophie dancing & seeing the boys all shaking their butts over the railing, trying to get on the Fan Cam. Ha ha! The next day we flew back to AZ...thanks a million to Mom & Dad for such an incredible trip!
